Join the Festivities
June 20 through June 22, 2008 the small town of Intercourse, Pennsylvania will serve as the setting for an "old fashioned" family celebration. Our 254th Anniversary Celebration has festivities planned for all ages. Please refer to the listing below. All activities held at the Intercourse Community Park.
Friday June 20, 2008
- Food Showcase - "A Taste Of Intercourse, Lancaster County" (5:00pm - 9:00pm)
- Lancaster County is renowned for their food, and what a better place to experience the foods of Lancaster County then the heart of Lancaster County - Intercourse, PA. The showcase will highlight local restaurants, eateries, and traditions.
- Kids Activities (5pm - 9pm)
- Kids can enjoy the pedal tractor pull, tractor rides and a bounce house.
- Farm Animals (5pm - 9pm)
- Kids will love the little animals and being able to see them up close.
- Banjo Jimmy & His Band (6pm - 8pm)
- Heritage Display of History of Intercourse Village (5pm - 9pm)
- Shoo Fly Pie Baking Contest (in pavilion- no fees)
- This will be one tasty contest! Enter by 6pm Judging at 7pm.
- Spelling Bee (7:30pm - ? )
- How do you spell good, old-fashioned fun? A spelling bee! Join the fun as future spelling stars test their wit, and spelling bee stars from the past are put to the test!
- Volleyball Tournament (5pm - 9pm)
- Volleyball Tournament featuring local teams.
Saturday June 21, 2008
- Pancake & Sausage Breakfast in the Park(6:30am - 10:00am)
- Come for a hearty breakfast prepared by the Intercourse Fire Department.
- Quilting (10am - 4pm)
- Hands on in the pavilion.
- Volleyball Tournament (9am - 5pm)
- Volleyball Tournament featuring local teams.

- Enjoy demonstrations including horseshoeing, butchering, sling shooting and wood carving.
- Helicopter Rides (10am - 5pm)
- Kids Activities (10am - 5pm)
- Kids can enjoy tractor rides and a bounce house and a fire truck demonstration.
- Petting Zoo and Pony Rides (11am - 8pm)
- Gingerbread Cookie Decorating (11am - 1 pm)
- KIDS…Come decorate you own cookie provided by Kitchen Kettle. (First come… first served!)
- Kids Variety Show (1pm - 3:30)

- Classic Car Show (1:00pm - 6:00pm)
- Step back in time and wander through a variety of classic cars as they are displayed around the pond at the Intercourse Community Park.
- Antique Tractor Show (All Day)
- Enjoy a display of vintage tractors
- Antique Tractor Parade (4pm)
- Tractors will parade thru the park and down main street and return back to the park to kick off a great evening of Food, Fireworks & Entertainment.
- Churchmen (6:30pm - 7:30pm)
- You won't want to miss this truly entertaining performance.
- Sunny Side Bluegrass (7:30pm - 8:30pm)
- Another performance you won't want to miss!

- Back again for your enjoyement..
- Sky Diver
- Local skydiver will parachute out of an airplane while displaying an Intercourse 250th Commemorative Banner.
- Banner Silent Auction (7pm)
- One lucky person will go home with this Commemorative Banner.
- Kim Stoltzfus (prior to fireworks)
- A patroitic medley from one of our own local talents.
- Fireworks Display (Begins at dusk)
- A perfect ending to the day ~ a breath taking fireworks display high above the Community park grounds.
Sunday June 22, 2008
- Special Sunday Worship Service at the Park (10:00am -11:15am)
- Enjoy fellowship time, special music and a Sunday worship service as local churches combine for a special service. Service will be held at the Intercourse Community Park by the Pond.
- Covered Dish Social (Noon-1:30pm)
- A local area tradition. The community will be gathering to socialize as visitors bring their favorite culinary delight to share with old and new friends! To be held in the Pavilion at the Intercourse Community Park.
